FAQs: Understanding the New Surcharge Policy

What’s Changing

For all orders placed on or after June 15, all Qosina products will include a minimal surcharge due to global tariffs impacting supply chain costs. Products sourced from China will carry a 13% surcharge, while all other products—including U.S.-made items—will include a much smaller 2.4% surcharge.

  • 2.4% for products sourced from all countries except China
  • 13% for products sourced from China

Over 95% of our products fall into the 2.4% category, so the majority of your orders will only be minimally affected.

Why the Change?

Global tariffs have driven up the cost of sourcing and manufacturing, and many of our suppliers have already passed those increases on to us. Rather than raising our product prices, we’ve chosen to apply a separate, transparent surcharge—and we’re only passing on a portion of the added costs.

The tariffs have been in place for several months, and we’ve done our best to absorb the impact while working through existing inventory. We’re only now introducing the surcharge, because we’ve reached a point where sharing a small part of the cost is necessary to keep everything running smoothly—for you and for us.

How It Works (Ordering and Billing)

You’ll see the surcharge listed on your official order confirmation and your final invoice, but it won’t appear in your online cart at checkout. If you have any questions before placing an order, feel free to reach out—we’re happy to walk you through the details.

When you place your order, your card will be authorized for the subtotal only. If a surcharge applies, it will be added to the final charge when the order is processed. You’ll see the full amount, including any surcharge, on your final receipt.

Great question! If your order was placed before June 15, it won’t be subject to the surcharge—even if the items ship later. The surcharge only applies to orders placed on or after June 15.

You may cancel your order within 1-3 business days of the PO being received. However, orders cancelled after that timeline will be subject to a restocking fee of 25%.

Product Options and Alternatives

Yes, you likely can! We offer a wide range of alternatives that carry only the 2.4% surcharge. Our team is happy to help match these options to your specs, send samples or guide you through the switch. In many cases, it’s a seamless change.

Support from Qosina

We’re here to make this as smooth as possible. Our support includes:

  • Personalized guidance from our Sales and Customer Experience teams
  • Help identifying lower-surcharge alternatives
  • Sample support to qualify replacements with confidence
  • Clear, honest communication—every step of the way

We completely understand your frustration. We can provide a simple summary with all the key details. Just let us know what you need to make those internal conversations easier—we’ve got your back.

Looking Ahead

We don’t have plans to increase the surcharge, but tariff conditions continue to evolve. If there are significant changes to tariff rates, we may need to adjust.

We will keep you informed and communicate updates as clearly and promptly as possible.

Our goal is to eliminate the surcharge to our customers. The surcharge is a direct response to current global tariffs and trade conditions, which remain outside of our control. However, we are closely monitoring the regulatory landscape, and if those external cost pressures ease, we are prepared to adjust or remove the surcharge accordingly. Our commitment is to transparency and fairness—we’ll always act in your best interest and keep you informed every step of the way.

Yes, we’re closely watching the expiration of the 90-day pause on reciprocal tariffs for goods from Europe, Switzerland and the UK. If tariffs are reduced or removed, we’ll promptly review and adjust our surcharge percentages to reflect those changes. Our commitment is to stay fair and responsive.

Our Customer Experience and Sales teams are ready to help with:

  • Product-specific questions
  • Order reviews
  • Alternative options
  • Surcharge breakdowns
...and anything else you need to move forward with confidence.
