Like many great companies, Qosina got its start in the guest bedroom of an ambitious, hard-working entrepreneur’s home. In 1980, Stuart Herskovitz had a vision: to provide stock components to medical device and pharmaceutical companies and become a trusted partner to his customers, distributors and vendors.

Back then, Stuart was the senior vice-president at a small medical supply company that manufactured X-ray contrast media. That company owned six slide clamp molds, which would run for a week and produce enough components to last for a year. The investment in the mold and the inventory of components essentially sat on the shelf and collected dust. Stuart went to the board and proposed the idea of selling the excess capacity. They said if he wanted to leave the company, he could sell their parts. So he ventured out on his own and founded Qosina. And the rest, as the saying goes, is history.
